THE ELECTRIFIED ALL GIRLS BAND – “Fly Away (Disco Version)/Instrumental” (197?) Dome City-10005 super rare & sought after original Holy Grail New Orleans Disco 12” in custom cover – M-/M- (cover/record)
The second of two monster rare and totally killer disco-funk groovers by an all female group from New Orleans produced by Lloyd L. Harris, Jr. This is their Holy Grail super sought-after issue of the monster cut, “Fly Away”. It’s one of the all-time best private disco-funk cuts ever, and it’s so very hard to find, particularly in clean condition.
The group is Donna Mitchell, Brenda Andrews, Kathy Thompson, Tina Dupree, Carol Davis, Synn Claire Banks, Glenda Chambliss, and Sharon Simpson.
They play everything from multiple horns to percussion, Fender Rhodes, Mini Moog, ARP, drums, guitar, and bass. Harry Sterling scored this one. The vocal version is on side A, with the flip being an instrumental version.
This is a super rare original pressing. The original custom cover is in the original shrink wrap and the vinyl looks basically unplayed. I’ve graded this very conservatively M-/M- (cover/record).
Winner pays postage. Domestic U.S. shipping is $3.50 media rate or $8 for priority mail (insurance additional and quoted at cost). International first class shipping (7-10 day delivery) varies by postal zone. Please see the listing for specific costs.
I package all LPs securely in record mailers and remove the vinyl from the covers to prevent seam splits during mailing. I do not just stick your record in a priority mailer box from the post office or between two thin pieces of cardboard with no additional packaging materials like so many others!!!
I now accept Paypal for all transactions, in addition to other methods noted as follows. Domestic Bidders – personal checks are cool for payment but must clear (10 business days). Money orders get next day shipping. Overseas Bidders – we’ll work this out – I’m really flexible.
