A must for the Allan Bryant, MEV, Sound Sculpture/Invented Instruments, Avant Garde or Experimental Music collector, this is “Space Guitars,” on the CRI label. Bryant was founding member of Musica Elettronica Viva (aka MEV) along with Frederic Rzewski, Alvin Curran and John Phetteplace. Performing on string instruments that he created, Bryant’s music here is sometimes reminiscent of Hans Reichel and would be very much at home on the “Guitar Solos” series of records with Reichel, Fred Frith, Derek Bailey, Henry Kaiser and others. Great stuff.
The Record is M-. The Jacket is VG+ with a promo hole in the upper left corner, a couple of fine creases along the rim of the record and some light ring wear. There is also a thin sticker on the back that reads “record library Guitar Player magazine.”
