RARE ITEM HERE.
Allan Sherman, who I think had issued one single ("Jake's Song") on Jubilee, planned something ambitious: a kosherized version of MY FAIR LADY.
He gave an informal performance of some of the songs in front of a laughing audience, who loved "I've Got the Customers To Face" (not "I've Grown Accustomed to her Face"). Eliza here is taught that "The Chrein in Spain Tastes Good with Two Cents Plain!" And there's the happy song, "With a Little Bit of Lox!" And more
Allan's reference recording was sent over to Lerner and Lowe, and they got stuffier than a stuffed derma, and wouldn't let him joke around with their material. OY!
Here's the reference recording...one sided acetate, about 15 minutes of wonderful fun. No scratches. An iconic item!!
