Description
MARLENE DIETRICH! A woman who should be a role model for every girl who craves autonomy! She cut a wide swath through the 20's Weimar Berlin cabaret world, then went on to the movies and international super-stardom, writing her own ticket the whole way. She made Will Power SEXY!
But I digress.
Here is one of her iconic records: "ALLEIN-IN EINER GROSSEN STADT" ("Alone in a Big City"). Recorded in Paris in July, 1933, Marlene had just fled Hitler's Germany, thus giving a special twist to this already dark and moody song. On the flip, she's in a lighter vein, reminiscing about "MEIN BLONDES BABY." Peter Kreuder musically directs.
This 1936 American Brunswick 7723 is in E condition. It's master pressed, both sides, from the original Polydor metal parts.
