ALLEN HOUSER QUINTET & SEXTET LP NO SAMBA (Straight Ahead Records ARS001) Released 1973.

   Superb condition: played very few times. Very hard-to-find jazz album-probably the only release only the obscure Straight Ahead label out of Silver Spring, MD. Quotes from a Charles Olson poem series "The Maximus Poems" (1960) on back cover. Five cuts in all; one cut times out at nearly 11 minutes, another at nearly nine minutes. Allen Houser trumpet; Buck Hill tenor sax, Terry Plumeri bass; Vince Genova piano; Steve Novosel bass; & Mike Smith drums. Original US stereo pressing from 1973.  Engineered by J Cory Pearson.

 COVER - VG++

  Cover shows no seam splits, STAINS, TAPE, gummy residue, stickers, water damage, cut-out marks, ink smudges or color fading. Sharp print & good color. Faint rubber stamp on back covers a small inch-and-a-half by quarter-inch area off to the periphery. No major blemish. Slight speckled ring wear. Just a little corner banging. A few faint creases & crinkles of a half-inch or so. Label is in excellent condition. Sharp-cut hole with faint transparent spindle brushings.

DISC - NM
