This is rare exceptional original US pressing of the second album by The Allman Brothers Band, Idlewild South, issued in 1970 by Atco Records on the original yellow label with the cover still mostly encased in shrink wrap. Please note that the matrix information shows catalogue number etched in dead wax on Side 1 ending in A and on Side 2 ending in B. This is usually an indication of first generation pressing stampers

As to grading I grade very conservatively. Except for records that are a notch below near mint, rather than VG++, I prefer use of grade of Excellent. I do not use VG++ grade in addition to Excellent grade as is done by some.

The LP visually is in near mint condition with no visible marks on the playing surface. The LP plays very quiet. Note that the LP was tested several weeks prior to listing and cleaned by hand and not machine. It should be cleaned again before play. The cover is in very good plus condition and very close to excellent condition. The cover is mostly covered in shrink wrap, but there is piece missing in front lower part of cover near mouth. The corners are quite sharp with the exception of lower mouth corner which is slightly crimped. The seams and spine are very strong with no visible wear, except in the area where shrink is missing on the lower seam which has some rub wear in that area but no splits. The  product information on spine  is clearly visible. The front and back covers  are very clean with vibrant graphics. There is area of damage near the upper right corner of front that looks to have been caused by removal of sticker.

The LP is being sold without reserve and payment is expected within 3 days of auction close. Return of the LP will only be accepted if the same LP sold and shipped is returned in the same condition. The LP will be separated from the cover when shipped to prevent seam splitting.
