So hard to come by. ORIGINAL 1969 copy of THE ALLMAN BROTHERS LP THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND pressed in 1969 on the ATCO LABEL. CAT#SD33-308. The debut of The Allman Brothers was a great one. After a decade of American Blues artists coming to the fore, and releasing LPs of their music, other artists who were influenced by them started releasing blues infused LPs. Artists like Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Animals, and plenty of others were releasing blues infused music. What set the Allmans apart? They were from the south, and they were an integrated band. That southern thang they brought was something different and special. They also Brought a jam mentality, something that would keep devoted fans hitting all the shows, and searching for all the tapes. This LP started it all, and IMO, this is their best record.
This copy looks and plays NM all around. It was a well cared for LP, but definitely played, and who can blame them. The Vinyl sounds great, it's very clean. An exceptional playing copy with no background sound, just pristine play. The cover is beautiful front and back. There's wear to the front bottom seam by the opening for 1/8", and the same on the spine side, and that's the only blemish this copy has. Anyone who knows this LP will know how rare it is to find such a pristine copy. They weren't a big band then, and so the LP didn't have huge sales. That combines with the folks who did buy this, played it to death. The runout has a GEORGE PIROS etched on side one, which makes this a very desirable copy, knowing that he mastered it. I don't believe I ever have seen this LP with the AT/GP in the runout. The ORIGINAL INNER is in very nice VG+ condition with some toning, has scotch tape neat on bottom seam 4" to protect against split, and typical folds.
