You are bidding for a CLASSIC UK 50'S FEMALE JAZZ VOCAL LP record by ALMA COGAN called I LOVE TO SING, issued in the UK on the HIS MASTERS VOICE record label in 1958, cat number CLP 1152 ( PLUM AND GOLD, NIPPER THE DOG LABEL, MONO). Side 1; I LOVE TO SING, LIFE IS JUST A BOWL OF CHERRIES, THEY CAN'T TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME, TAKING A CHANCE ON LOVE, AIN'T WE GOT FUN, YOU DO SOMETHING TO ME. Side 2; TODAY I LOVE EV'RYBODY, CHEEK TO CHEEK, IF THIS ISN'T LOVE, AS TIME GOES BY, COMES LOVE, BLUE SKIES.. The record is in excellent condition with excellent labels. The record has little wear with few slight scuffs and few slight surface scratches and plays with no jumps and clicks and a minimum of surface noise. The original picture sleeve is also excellent. CLASSIC UK FEMALE JAZZ VOCAL DEBUT ALBUM from ALMA COGAN featuring a graet set of JAZZ STANDARDS backed by a BIG SWING DANCE BAND conducted by FRANK CORDELL featuring her great JAZZ VOCALS AND STYLING, very much going back to her roots where she started frontingdance bands, and away from all of the novelty type hit records that she had been so successful with in the fifties. . ALMA COGAN was huge in the 50's with a string of huge hits around the world. Ever present on UK radio and and continued her success around the world with continuing hiut records until her untimel tragic early death in 1967. RARE in good condition, from my own collection.
