Up for auction is a rare 45 rpm vinyl record rhythm and blues record:

Year of release: 1955
My research gives wildly different information on the life of Alonzo Scales. One source states that he was born in 1888, which would have made him 67 years old when he recorded these songs. Another source, however, states that he was born in 1923 near Madison, in Rockingham County, North Carolina. He recorded two tracks in 1949 (for Abbey Records) and four tracks (for Wing Records) in 1955. In his Wing records, he was backed by Brownie McGhee (1915 - 1996, Piedmont Blues singer and guitarist); (Blind) Sonny Terry (1911 - 1986, Piedmont Blues harp/harmonica player); and Bob Gaddy (1924 - 1997, East Coast blues pianist singer and songwriter). Scales died in either 1975 or 1976, in Brooklyn, NY.
