ALP 1286/7 R/G: FURTWANGLER, BEETHOVEN 9th SYMPHONY

 

Wilhelm Furtwangler conducts the Orchestra and Chorus of the 1951 Bayreuth Festival in a performance of  Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, the ‘Choral’ with soloists Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Elisabeth Hongen, Hans Hopf and Otto Edelmann on two ED1 Red and Gold Label HMV Mono (No Stereo) LPs, ALP1286/7.

 

The Discs have a few marks – Side 1 has a needle dig which gives 7 clicks - and have some surface noise which may be removed with a professional clean but the LPs play and sound very well and there are no sticks or jumps. The sleeves are in Excellent Condition for their age.
