GIOCONDA DE VITO and TITO APREA
BEETHOVEN "KREUTZER" SONATA
HMV ALP 1319
ORIGINAL UK MONO (1956)
EXTREMELY RARE RECORD !! ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND.
NEVER RELEASED AS AN 'ASD' STEREO VERSION.
SLEEVE : EXCELLENT (at least !)
For a 54 year old record the sleeve is in absolutely superb condition. There is some slight ringwear on the front cover and some very slight flaring at the opening, but no rips,no tears and no stains.
The spine is totally legible and uncrushed. The rear cover is crisp and bright white. No fading AT ALL. Looks shop new.
Apart from a few very very small (1mm) creases near the spine the laminate is completely intact on both front and back sleeves.
LABELS : NEAR MINT
As you can see from the photos the labels are more or less mint. No spindle marks and no writing.
VINYL (VISUAL) : EX+
In normal daylight the vinyl looks near perfect with a strong shine. When examined critically under a very harsh halogen light there are a number of very light surface marks which are almost impossible to see.
AUDIO : VG+ to EX-
The music and playing is of course superb with rich full tones. The are no sticks or jumps but there are 2 slight 'pops' on side 2. The audio is superb but not mint.
I have listened to this record IN FULL several times at loud volume. There is very light background sound in parts of the record but not enough to take away from the listening pleasure. To put in perspective, if the music is at 10, the background sound may be 1.5 to 2 if that makes sense. With professional cleaning this record may sound even better !
All in all, this is a great copy of a very very rare record. I doubt if you will be able to find a better copy anywhere.
