Description
J. S. BACH: GOLDBERG VARIATIONS
Very rare and highly sought after 1st edition copy of this 2 LP set. Both LPs are in great condition although the sleeves show some wear.

GRADING
SLEEVE: G+/VG
The sleeve for ALP 1548 is in fine condition overall being that there are no splits or tears and no damage per se. The problem is that (as can be seen in the photo) a strange effect has developed whereby the picture has faded (oxidisation of the surface?). The sleeve for ALP 1549 is markedly better with just some edge wear and some discolouration to the rear.
RECORD: EX/EX
The records are lovely and clean with no damage and no feelable marks. Under bright light there are a couple of very fine sleeve removal type marks and a couple of hairlines but that’s it.
The above record grading is based on Record Collector magazine system:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
