Alternative rock began life, pretty much, in the late 70s and early 80s. The term loosely means the opposite of safe, radio friendly pop music. By the early 90s, alternative bands began out selling many pop bands, so it's not a bad thing, at all! The 80s, 90s, and 2000s have featured MANY alternative rock bands that made quality music. Today, we look at FOUR of those types of artists, and their vinyl records.

We start off with the debut album by Faith No More. The band had original lead singer Chuck Mosley still onboard. Mosley passed away in 2017. (RIP Chuck. You were the spark that ignited a fire that became Faith No More. You were a talented singer and songwriter, and you are missed!) The debut FNM album 'We Care a Lot' came out in 1985, and turns FORTY next year. Original first press copies have the band listed as Faith. No More. (a few times). This is a first press copy! The vinyl looks new, and is shiny and clean. Inner sleeve in fantastic condition, with no splits. Outer jacket looks awesome, with only the tiniest bit of shelf-wear on it. Overall, in really, really great condition!

Next, we movie on to a New Orleans alternative and new wave band called the Red Rockers. Red Rockers began as a punk band in the New Orleans area in 1979, but by '83, they became new wave darlings with a song called "China", an early MTV hit, from their album 'Good As Gold'. They looked and sounded European! One of the follow-ups to "China" is a song called 'Till It All Falls Down', a great song itself. The Red Rockers are represented here today with the 12" of "Till It All Falls Down", with the album version, as well as the extended remix, plus "Home is Where the War Is", another 'Good As Gold' track. The record has a few very, very light surface marks on it, but nothing bad. No scratches, gouges, or scuffs. Jacket looking a little rough with some shelf-wear, but still holding together and still intact.

The Stone Roses only released two studio albums in their short life as an indie rock band with elements of electronica, psychedelica, and even flashes of dance pop. In other words, alternative! Their debut album came out in 1989, but by 1994, THIRTY years ago, the band blew up with the hit "Love Spreads". The Stone Roses are here today with the 12" of "Love Spreads", with three extra tracks added, two that are previously unreleased! The vinyl looks new, and is shiny and clean. The (thinner and slightly smaller) jacket is in fantastic shape.

We'll end with the weird and wonderful band Pop Will Eat Itself, and a 12" picture disc of the songs "Karmadrome" and "Eat Me Drink Me Love Me Kill Me". That's the title, I swear! These guys are post-punk, electronic, industrial, and whatever else you can put in their musical blender. The artwork on here is pretty trippy and wild. It's the single AND the dub versions of "Eat Me", and the album version of "Karmadrome". In its original PVC jacket (that's split), with a backing card. Card has song titles and credits on it. Card and vinyl itself are in great shape, and look awesome!

Bring home some alternative rock hidden treasures, and bands you may (or may not) have heard of. Cool music from the 80s and 90s will always sound great on your system. They're ready to come home with you today and rock the house!
