SOURCE OF RECORDS/GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This record (along with a number of others) is being sold on behalf of a former 1970’s DJ. The record will clearly have been played on a number of occasions (but on a decent turntable) and has been well cared for. Most have a number of light surface marks from being stored and moved in and out of stiff card sleeves, and exhibit some degree of surface crackle in the dead wax areas: fortunately, most of these records are quite “loud” cuts and therefore there is little or no intrusion into the music. Unless otherwise stated, none of these records have any damage, distortion, scratches, jumps or skips. All records have been played and a description of the play as well as the grade is given. Sleeves are generally worn card replacements, unless stated otherwise.
GRADING OF VINYL RECORDS
It will inevitably be subjective, but I've tried to grade by the Record Collector standard. All records undergo an initial visual grading under strong light. Any marks in the vinyl which may be significant result in partial or complete playing. Comments on individual listening are appended to the grading.
EXCELLENT (EX) The record itself shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
I don’t have records outside these three categories and I don’t believe in Mint! To bridge the gulf between VG and EX, I use VG+,VG++,VG+++
PACKAGING
Records will be wrapped in clingfilm, with a double corrugated card outer.
REFUNDS and RETURNS
In the event that an item is lost or damaged in the Post, I will have a Certificate of Posting, which I can send to you to make a claim up to £34. Over this amount, special arrangements may be made.
I have done my best to grade this item accurately. Should you feel that the item is sufficiently at odds with my description, I will provide a full auction price refund upon return (within seven days of receipt) of the item, provided negative feedback is not given. There will be no renegotiation of the final auction price.
