Description
Offered here is an incredibly rare, authentic STEREO Beatles Butcher cover. These stereo versions are anywhere from 5-8X harder to find then the more common mono pressings. This example is the best third state I have ever listed (and seen!). This piece is truly wonderful. The trunk slick has been professionally removed with great success by the best in the biz, Mr. Jim Hansen over at Blue Jay Way Galleries. This is one of the best jobs he has ever done. This cover has that awesome 1st state look for about 1/6 of the price of a 1st state stereo. This can be the pride of your collection! You will never need to upgrade!
The butcher slick has been revealed with great success. This is a #5 LA pressing, so the colors are bold and lifelike. The glue lines that are found on all third states are VERY light. There are none of the typical glue rings that are found on LA mono covers. The Stereo Banner is dark and beautiful with NO glue residue. Most stereo covers will have glue residue on the banner that causes a cloudy effect, but this one is a clean, dark grey. There are no tears of creases on the slick either.
The spine is 100 percent intact with no wear or splits. All the printing is there. The spine is 100 percent solid with none of the little paper creases that are so often found on record covers. The top seem is 100 percent intact with no damage. The bottom has about 3 inches of professionally repaired seem in the middle. All the paper is there, however.
The corners are razor sharp. There is no “softening” to be found. There is a very light push on the front, top right corner that does not affect the slick or back.
The back is a magnificent white. There is only a small bit of toning and a couple of small, light stains. There is NO ringwear. Just the kind of wear that would occur to a cover that has been stored with other records. Very minimal indeed.
There are no bends, holes, writing, water damage or other terrible defects to be found!
I will include a VG+ disk and a copy of the recall letter. I will also throw in the original inner sleeve. I am aware of the counterfeit stereo butcher covers out there. I have not seen a replica that can match the beauty of this piece. I GUARANTEE THAT THIS IS AN AUTHENTIC 1966 BEATLES STEREO BUTCHER COVER!
