Description
I have been an obsessive collector of vinyl LP's and singles for many years, and from the very first I have always been very careful about the condition of the records I have bought. Once in my posession the records have been well stored and always very carefully handled. If the records have been played at all, it has always been on a good quality hi - fi system, the deck being a Linn LP12 deck with a top of the range arm and cartridge.
As a result, most of the many thousands of items in my collection are in excellent condition or better.
Now, in order to create more space at home, I have decided to cut the collection back to a core of my personal favourite artistes, and to dispose of the remainder. These I intend to list for auction over the coming months.
For auction here is a UK stereo copy of the Ambrose Slade LP called 'Beginnings of Slade' on the Contour label, number 6870-678, issued in 1969.
This LP was withdrawn after issue and is consequently quite rare and notoriously difficult to locate. The LP charts the beginnings of the rock group Slade, from their start as Ambrose Slade.
The glossy but unlaminated sleeve has some very minor corner bumping but otherwise looks pretty much like new, a superb cover. The white lined inner is white and clean.
The LP vinyl is bright and shiny. I found one small cosmetic 'smudge' defect on side 1 track 4 which the Linn plays straight through with no problems. In fact despite some signs of wear around the spindle hole the album plays sonically very well. These Contour albums were never superbly recorded, sounding a bit bright and somewhat 'thin' , but don't misunderstand these comments, the vinyl on this copy is generally in a really good and collectable condition
I'd rate this EX/VG+ condition, and I offer this rare pressing at no reserve.
