America released their first compilation album "History - America's Greatest Hits" in November 1975 on Warner Bros. Records. It went multi-platinum in the U.S. where it reached No. 3 on the charts but it did even better in Australia and Japan. George Martin produced the album and both No. 1 singles "A Horse With No Name" and "Sister Golden Hair" are included. The album cover art was done by comedian Phil Hartman who was the brother of the band's co-manager John Hartmann.

This copy of (BS 2894) is from the First Pressing and is in excellent condition. The cover still has its original Factory Shrink Wrap and is in Near-Mint condition as is the original heavy card-stock Lyrics Inner Sleeve. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays cleanly and is easily VG+ which is as high as I do on vintage vinyl. It was mastered by Harry Moss at Abbey Road Studios in London and this copy was pressed at the Columbia Records plant in Santa Maria, Calif. The Side One dead wax is etched BS-2894 41182-A-1B HTM C12 1S.

In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.

Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.

This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 46 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
