Description

Four box set of the American Bible Society Recording of the Old and New Testament by read by A. Scourby, American film, television and voice actor


I got these from a lovely mature couple's estate sale.  They obviously enjoyed them as they have notes inside of one of the boxes and on several of them.  See photos.


The readings are of the King James Version.  Three boxes include Old Testament Readings and one includes New Testament. 

I have not played all of these records but they look in very good vintage condition. Each one has blue label in center with content information. They are meant to be played at 16 2/3 RPM as noted on the blue labels. The boxes and individual jackets are stained with obvious and expected signs of light wear and tear. Please see photos.


All records have sleeves and have have Braille on the back of each of the blue labels. (one sleeve in vol II was empty).  According to information online, Scourby recorded 422 audiobooks for the blind which he considered his most important work. He has a reputation in the audiobook industry as being one of the greatest narrators: He is heralded as having the greatest voice ever recorded.
