Description
AMERICOM/APPLE Pocket Disc-BEATLES Hey Jude/Revolution-Flexi
This is a RARE 4-inch round flexi disc record from 1969. It is made on flexible black vinyl with white print by AMERICOM/APPLE for use in special vending machines. These discs were intended to be a convenient way for fans to "carry music in their pockets" to friends or gatherings, where they could play them on record machines! The fad didn't last long, and not many labels allowed their songs to be used. The BEATLES had several discs, this one featuring a special edit of HEY JUDE at 3:25 on one side, backed with REVOLUTION at 3:22. They were issued in generic red or blue covers (this one was red--see scan) which had a little information on them about pocket discs. These discs were available for a short time in 1969 in vending machines; they are quite rare now. Grab it now, I don't see too many offered for sale. The disc info is APPLE/AMERICOM 2276P/M-221A and B.
