A masterpiece of live electronics from the pioneers of the genre, AMM(Cornelius Cardew, Lou gare, Christopher Hobbs, Eddie Prevost, Keith Rowe) from London and Musica Elettronica Viva(Alvin Curran, Allan Bryant, Frederic Rzewski, Richard Teitelbaum, Ivan Vandor) from Rome. Original us Mainstream pressing.
MEV combined techniques of composition and group improvisation in live electronic music, made a series of 100 concerts throughout Europe in 1967-68, performing both improvised music, but also compositions of Larry Austin, David Behrman, John Cage, Cornelius Cardew, Takehisa Kosugi, Alvin Lucier, Chiari, Gelmetti. Tapes and complex electronics(like brainwave amplifiers, R.A.Moog Synthesizer, photocell mixer for movement of sound into space) are combined with traditional instruments, aplified by contact microphones
AMM on the other side, beggining from 1965 did certainly mark the history of improvised music with releases on Elektra, Incus and their own Matchless in a period of over +40 years, with various members coming and going, on this album is featured an excerpt from a concert at the Notting Hill Gate, London for the Crypt Programme from 1968...Highly recommended!!
Cover in excellent- condition(some edge wear, NYPL stamp on the back), while vinyl looks very good-a quite used condition(scratches, etc.)!! Impossible to find in any condition!!
