Amon Düü II's follow-up to their landmark double-LP set Tanz der Lemminge features a musical approach less experimental than previous recordings, but nonetheless distinctive and broad-reaching, rich and complex. The almost epic tack of the earlier works has been pared down a little, but full-forward, guitar-heavy tracks like "C.I.D. in Uruk," "Ballad of the Shimmering Sands," and "Kronwinkl 12" use disparate folk and hard rock elements cannily and the band moves the music with a majestic sweep punctuated by the snaky guitar work of Chris Karrer and John Weinzier

Bright, clean and unmarked labels - light spindle traces only
VINYL Visual: EXCELLENT+/EXCELLENT
Both surfaces retain their original deep glossy sheen - a few superficial marks are visible, especially on the edge of Side Two but these have little impact on the sound
VINYL Audio: EXCELLENT+/EXCELLENT
A rich and complex, bass heavy piece of work which has seen little use and my play-check at volume found little to fault - an occasional touch of low-level surface/odd brief tick was noted but nothing I found in the slightest intrusive
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT
Clean and unmarked with a deep glossy sheen to the laminated surfaces which display a little rub and some indentation marks (nothing major) - little edge or spine wear to speak of - all spine text is clear and bold
