Distributors sticker on cover, indented spine, small creases, small sticker residue arc, very slight age discoloration. Lp looks new with only minimal wear, plays well with little noise.
This is the German Metronome "2001" series 1973 issue of AMON DUUL's debut, "Psychedelic Underground" from 1969, which also came out in the U.S. as "Amon Duul" on Prophecy in 1970. This version has fantastic cover photos of the group in its early incarnation, which featured vocalist/ actress Uschi Ubermeier.
From the heady 60s German communal underground came this behemoth early jam monster that was to be a cornerstone for the entire German Krautrock and cosmic music scenes to come. Culled from a super session of heavy jamming, strumming, pounding, exploring, and inventing, this is the authentic spacey, heavy DUUL "banging on trashcan lids" sound that sparked a musical revolution. Seldom if ever had music there been so free-form and powerful. This album slipped out, as did its follow up, "Collapsing," as afterthoughts; after which a more serious faction of the group splintered off and became the fabled AMON DUUL II, Meanwhile this DUUL would resurface in late 1970 for a last go-round, for the Ohr label, called "Paradies Warts Duul." Another early session collection, "Disaster," would soon after find its way onto the market, before the DUUL II name/ band took over and continued alone.
This is the lp and the music that started it all.
