Amon Tobin Splinter Cell - Chaos Theory - Deluxe 2 x Vinyl LP + Poster

(Ninja Tune Zen 100) Rare 2 x Vinyl album set with giant fold out poster housed in special printed PVC sleeve. Chaos Theory – Splinter Cell 3 Soundtrack is the fifth album by Brazilian trip hop artist Amon Tobin. It was released on 25 January 2005 by Ninja Tune. The album consists of a collection of songs that Tobin wrote for Ubisoft's video game, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Ubisoft was so pleased with Tobin's work that they decided to release the album several months ahead of the actual game.

Technically speaking, the album is not a soundtrack. In the game, each track is split into individual components that are independently layered over one another to correspond with a player's actions. Thus, none of the songs on the album would ever be heard in the game except in small fragments.
This album showcased the beginning Tobin's shift from collecting samples from vinyl records to recording his own samples. For the recording of Chaos Theory – Splinter Cell 3 Soundtrack, Tobin hired a live band whose members ranged from Mexican composer Nacho Mendez to Japanese flutist Eiji Miyake.
