Ihr Gesicht ist unvergessen; man sieht hier sicherlich Weisheit sowie einen gereiften und selten zu findenden Sinn für Werte, und diese Sicht wird durch ihr Spiel unterstützt. Übertreibt sie im Schlusssatz der "Mondscheinsonate" vielleicht die kleinen zögernden Momente der Taktstriche? Ist der mittlere Satz zu langsam? Vielleicht, aber doch gibt es ein ausgeprägtes Allegretto, und dieses langsame Tempo, das durchaus richtig sein mag, nimmt den Hörer mehr und mehr gefangen ... Sie ist am besten in den Variationen, wo ihr Spiel eine fast hypnotische Qualität annimmt. Das Finale ist nicht zu sehr aufpoliert, aber effektvoll genug, und wie Browning macht sie die lange Wiederholung in der zweiten Hälfte von der Fischer sagt, dass sie immer ignoriert wird. In ihren Händen scheint diese Wiederholung sinnvoll und lohnenswert zu sein.
Her face is unforgettable; here, surely is wisdom and a matured sense of values such as we seldom find, and that view is supported by her playing. In the final movement of the "Moonlight Sonata" does she perhaps overdo the little hesitations on the barlines? Is the middle movement too slow? Perhaps, but after all it is marked allegretto, and this slow tempo, which may well be right, grows on you ... She is best in the variations, where her playing takes on an almost mesmeric quality. The finale is not polished, but effective enough, and, like Browning, she makes the long repeat in the second half, a repeat which Fischer says is always disregarded. In her hands the repeat seems meaningful and well worth making.

Elman still plays with charm and elegance ... In this batch of pieces, where the encore wags the concert, so to speak, Elman and Seiger combine war-horses and novelties in captivating manner. I was charmed by the exotic "From San Domingo", by Arthur Benjamin, with its echoes of guitars and popular songs. Charles Miller’s "Cubanaise" ... (its) vivacious rhythms and sonorous middle section are most appealing. Perhaps the item that most listeners will fall for is Elman’s arrangement of the so-called "Canto Amoroso" by Sammartini, an encore which Elman has made peculiarly his own. - Gramophone
