Up for auction is the limited edition set of 10 LP albums that comprise the long out-of-print “Complete Blue Note Andrew Hill Sessions (1963-1966) issued by MOSAIC RECORDS, INC. 

Andrew Hill was one of the greatest pianists of the sixties, but he never totally received his due.  A skillful, cerebral musician, Hill consciously positioned his music between hard bop and free jazz.  He was at his peak in the mid-sixties, as his playing and composing continued to explore new territory.  All of his seminal recordings for Blue Note between 1963 and 1966 are collected on the limited edition, 10-LP set “The Complete Andrew Hill Sessions (1963-1966).  During those three years, he recorded with an amazing array of talents including Eric Dolphy, Freddie Hubbard, Sam Rivers, Joe Henderson, Roy Haynes, Elvin Jones, Tony Williams, Richard Davis, Joe Chambers, John Gilmore, and Kenny Dorham.  The set features 15 alternate takes, including ten previously unreleased cuts and a composition that had never been released.  

Catalog number is MQ10-161.  The quality and care that go into these Mosaic offerings is well-known among jazz lovers and audiophiles. 

CONDITION (Discs): the LPs are in flawless near mint condition, and appear to have never been on a turntable. 

PLEASE NOTE:  Unfortunately there is no box or booklet.  The original box and booklet were damaged by exposure to moisture, and had to be discarded.  THE RECORDS WERE COMPLETELY PROTECTED INSIDE THEIR ORIGINAL RICE-PAPER SLEEVES, AND WERE NOT ADVERSELY AFFECTED IN ANY MANNER WHATSOEVER.  They are as flawless as the day they were originally pressed.   As with all my records, your satisfaction is FULLY GUARANTEED.
