ABOUT MY GRADING SCALE
My grading scale is based on Goldmine Grading System.
I concentrate on grading vinyl, as the condition of covers and labels can be seen on the photos/scans. The hidden flaws will always be mentioned.
See description below.
*** NEAR MINT (NM) ***
VINYL: The record is either never played or played a few times but shows no obvious signs of wear.
*** EXCELLENT (EX) ***
VINYL: Plays close to perfect. May have a few scuffs, but no more than 15% of the surface.
*** VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) ***
VINYL: Still plays nice with no obtrusive repeated clicks or pops. Will show some wear, surface scuffs and may show some very light scratches. May have a very slight warp which will not affect play.
*** VERY GOOD (VG) ***
VINYL: Audible sound defects will be heard. They will not overpower the dynamics of the music. The surface noise could be some crackle or a slight hiss, or a groove wear distortion caused by playing on a bad quality equipment. Some repeated clicks or pops are possible. May have a slight warp which will not affect play.
*** GOOD PLUS (G+) ***
VINYL: Will have distracting surface noise, such as crackle that is continuous or some hiss. However, it will still be possible to enjoy the record. It will play without any skips. May have a warp which will not affect play. I would rarely be selling records in this condition except for very rare/valuable items.
