Description
RARE POST BOP JAZZ LP
ANDREW HILL - Smoke Stack
Blue Note 4160
MONO
VG + / VG++
Runouts: BNLP - 4160 A VAN GELDER (stamp) + EAR MARK / BNLP - 4160 B VAN GELDER (stamp) + EAR MARK
*The second letter in the script in the dead wax is hard to read - on one side it seems like BDLP while on the other it looks like BNLP. While I could not find this exact copy on Discogs, I am deferring to the other Mono copies that list BN-4160.
Beautiful copy; from the well manicured estate of a college science professor
STRONG LOUD CLEAR PLAYER
**Side 1, Track 1 has a very light surface blemish that was audible on the first 10-12 rotations (including the two run in rotations); once the music kicks in, I could not hear it. There is another small blemish between tracks 1/2 that was not audible.
Have cleaned the record once but could use an additional cleaning from being in a living room cabinet for the last 50+ years.
Cover is in shrink (tear in SHRINK on front cover, lower right quarter); corners are softened (please see pics). Some age spots on the paper/cover in places.
*Take a look at the price tag on the cover - imagine Blue Note jazz lps at 2/$1!!!!
Please email me if there are any additional questions/details I have overlooked. Have also tried to take detailed photos of the corners, etc.
