GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : Andrew Korzy?ski ha sempre dimostrato con le sue musiche grande talento e originalità artistica, concentrandosi sempre più in una minuziosa ricerca di nuove musicalità a 360 gradi come nel campo dell'elettronica, del jazz, del rock, della sinfonia....ecc., ecc. Non per nulla i due famosi registi Polacchi, Andrzej Zulawski e Andrzej Waida, hanno voluto le sue composizioni per moltissimi loro films, basti pensare a "L'uomo di Ferro" (1977) o a "Possession" (1981). In questo album troviamo alcuni brani di altissima qualità tratti dalle sue prime colonne sonore. A soli 19 anni aveva già composto la partitura per il film "Tutto in Vendita" di Andrzej Waida. Il long playing ha una particolarità: non ci sono separazioni tra un brano e l'altro, anzi per volere dello stesso Korzy?ski la musica di una colonna sonora confluisce senza preavviso alcuno in un'altra, rendendo difficile riconoscere se non ad orecchie molto esperte il momento esatto di passaggio fra l'una e l'altra. Nei quarantadue minuti di durata del disco sono molte le sensazioni musicali che, a mio modesto avviso, afferrano l'interesse dell'ascoltatore. A dir poco caotica ma nello stesso tempo sorprendente e godibile è la prima traccia (a1). Svariate sonorità si avvicendano con ritmiche che all'improvviso vengono spazzate via da altre con caratteristiche differenti. Così all'iniziale percussività e coro maschile si passa a sonorità jazz dove primeggiano la tromba e poi il sassofono, dopo musica rock, buon suono d'organo, ottimo supporto di basso e batteria e chissà ancora quant'altro. Anche "Polowanie na muchy" (a2) possiede numerose variazioni. La sua partenza è affidata ad un ritmo allegro scandito dall'organo e dagli strumenti a fiato a cui subentra un'atmosfera sonora dal lento andamento con la partecipazione degli archi, delle percussioni e del sax per terminare con uno splendido vocalizzo femminile accompagnato in sottofondo da percussioni e pianoforte che danno vita a qualcosa di simile ad una bossa. Infine "Trzecia czesc nocy" (b1) dove chitarra, basso e batteria suonano un eccellente brano rock fino all'entrata dell'orchestra e a una girandola sonora dalle varie caratteristiche musicali. 

Notes : Andrew Korzy?ski has consistently demonstrated great talent and artistic originality, increasingly focusing in a meticulous search in every direction such as in the field of electronic music, jazz, rock, classical....etc., etc. Not for nothing the two Polish famous directors, Andrzej Zulawski and Andrzej Waida, wanted his compositions to a lot of their films, just think of "Man of Iron" (1977) or "Possession" (1981). In this album we find some high quality tracks taken from his first film scores. At only nineteen, he had composed the score for the film "Everything for Sale" by Andrzej Waida. This record has a peculiarity: there are no separations between a track and another, indeed for the will of Korzy?ski himself the music of a soundtrack flows without any notice in another, making it difficult to perceive the exact moment of passage between the one and the other except by very experienced ears. The LP in its forty-two minutes of time gives many music sensations which, in my humble opinion, strike the interest of the listener. The first track (a1) is nothing short of chaotic but at the same time amazing and enjoyable. Several sonorities alternate with rhythms that suddenly are overwhelmed by others from different characteristics. So, to the initial percussiveness and male chorus we move on to jazz wherein trumpet and thereafter the sax stand out, then rock music, good organ sound, great support by bass and drums and who knows what else. Even "Polowanie na muchy" (a2) has many variations. Its beginning is characterized by a cheerful rhythm highlighted by the organ and brass instruments later replaced by an atmosphere from the slow development with the participation of the strings, percussion and sax. Its last part features a beautiful female vocalization accompanied by percussion and piano in the background giving life to something like a bossa. Finally, "Trzecia czesc nocy" (b1) wherein guitar, bass and drums create a great rock climate up to the entrance of the orchestra and to swirling sounds from the various music features.
