Description

CARLOS CHAVEZ
A PROGRAM OF MEXICAN MUSIC
COLUMBIA ML-2080 UNITED STATES 1949
Widely acknowledged as the first Andy Warhol record sleeve, produced when the artist was just 21 years old. The modest illustrations are all but an after-thought to the type-heavy sleeve and about a million miles from the strident style that would define his generation.
Selections:  Sones Mariachi; La Paloma Azul; Xochipili-Macuilxochitl; Danza a Centeotl (From "Los Cuatro Soles"); Yaqui Music (Sonora); Huapango-Vera Cruz

CONDITION: After 66 years old cover looks nice just with some age wear as shown in pictures, mostly on corners and some on sides. These covers of the 40's are very hard to find in nice condition as this one. Please check Zoom pictures for a better description. Vinyl (visually grading) shows surface wear lines around both sides, not deep lines but may cause noise when playing.
