ANIMA 'Monte Alto' LP (Germany, Youdonthavetocallitmusic/Play Loud! Productions, Catalogue #Youdo 06/pl-48) Brand new/unplayed copy of limited year 2015 Youdonthavetocallitmusic/Play Loud! Productions co-release LP edition (limited edition of 500 copies only) of rare 1977 album by Paul and Limpe Fuchs (aka Anima / Anima Sound.) German Free Improv Avant-gardists originating in the early Ohr label-era who are perhaps most well known for their Nurse With Wound connection via their involvement in/contributions to the 'An Afflicted Man's Musica Box' compilation LP released on the United Dairies label in the early '80s. 'Monte Alto' was originally released in Germany in 1977 on the Alter Pfarrhof Production label.

Limpe Fuchs is a legend in the experimental music scene. In the late '60s, this percussionist drummed on self-made instruments, together with her then-husband Paul Fuchs, in the Ensemble Anima, working on the periphery of krautrock and free jazz. During that time, Limpe and Paul Fuchs worked with the classical pianist star Friedrich Gulda, as well as with jazz luminaries like Albert Mangelsdorff, and continually attracted the interest of their audiences in new constellations. Limpe Fuchs's solo performance with "variable wood and stone rows, ringing bronze in the pendulum strings, and a variety of skin and bronze drums" is a rare occasion to witness one of the early avant-gardists of the scene from the old Federal Republic of Germany. She attempts, while playing live, to develop her musical ideas from the "resonance of the location where the performance takes place" and "to make music in the flow of time, with simplicity and emotion." Her main concern is to sensitize the process of hearing: "Every tone is a sensation. Listening instead of shutting one's ears. Establishing silence." The album Monte Alto was released in 1977 on the band-owned label Alter Pfarrhof. It may be the best Anima album ever, if for no other reason than the wonderful freely improvised piano piece on the B-side. This is the first reissue of Monte Alto, and it is presented in an elaborate silkscreen print, hand-numbered, and limited to 500 copies, co-released by Play Loud! Productions and Youdonthavetocallitmusic. This reissue appears in advance of Limpe Fuchs and Play Loud! Productions' release of Limpe Fuchs's archival back catalog, along with some previously unreleased recordings and films, and new recordings, and follows many previous Anima/Limpe Fuchs releases that have been made without the permission of the artists.

'The duo of Paul and Limpe Fuchs (aka Anima or Anima Sound) were amongst the experimental to emerge out of the late-60s and become involved in the Munich underground rock scene. Elitists, and pure avant-gardists at heart, they worked with all manner of conventional and home-made instruments, performing wild and demanding music. Somehow they were adopted by the experimental rock label Ohr, despite their music being barely rock at all! STURMISCHER HIMMEL, recorded at a "thousand year old cottage on a windy hill" with their children, is amongst the oddest of albums. Bizarre creative music it certainly is, but Krautrock it is certainly not! Soon the became friends of the Austrian jazz avant-gardist Friedrich Gulda, and were invited to perform at his "Ossiach" festival. With Friedrich Gulda guesting on ANIMA a long association began with them touring together and being featured on many of each others albums. Some of their later LP's run very close to free-jazz or the serious avant-garde. Also, Limpe Fuchs has recently been working as a soloist.' - The Crack In The Cosmic Egg

We are record collectors here, too, and we pledge to package your records (or any other item) in a way in which we would like to have records/other items packaged, sent to us and received by us as well.

When packaging up records that are non-factory sealed items (as is standard for many import releases) or are open "used" items for shipment, we remove the LP and inner-sleeve from the album cover and place them on the outside of the cover to protect the cover from being subjected to any potential seam-splitting during transit.

When packaging up factory sealed records for shipment, we leave the item sealed, intact, as is. HOWEVER. If a customer REQUESTS that we unseal a factory sealed record to send with the LP and inner sleeve on the outside of the cover (to protect the cover from any potential seam-splitting during transit) we will do so. Please be sure to make this request of unsealing your record for shipment if that is your packaging preference.

When packaging up non-factory sealed items (or factory sealed items that have been unsealed at the buyer's request) that have custom company or other manner of printed inner-sleeves, we remove the record from those printed inner sleeves (returning the printed inner sleeves back into the album cover) and place them inside brand new, generic white paper inner sleeves, which are then placed on the outside of the album cover to protect both the album cover AND the original printed inner sleeves from being subjected to any potential seam splitting during transit. We do this for all new AND used items that are in our stock.

All LPs, be they new or used, are sheathed inside of new, protective plastic outer sleeves (with the exceptions of space or weight limitations that may occur with packaging your items - such exceptions will take place when they allow for a lower cost of shipping charged for your total order.)
