ANITA EKBERG COVER: Original Music by ROBERT MELLIN and others. This is one of a trio of albums released on CORAL records in the mid to late 1950's, mostly to showcase the music of ROBERT MELLIN, a pop writer of the pre-rock era. (One of his major hits was YOU YOU YOU by the Ames Brothers, and his credit was to be found on countless pop singles of that decade). To catch the attention of the casual LP browser, someone came up with the bright idea of using a cover picture of one of the then reigning beauties of the Silver Screen. ( It may come as a surprise to today's listeners that in the fifties, with rock emerging, pop still entrenched, there was a huge market for what was called "mood music". Those albums were consistent sellers and almost all of them had covers of beautiful women, whether they related to the music or not. This one is called ANITA MY LOVE, and opens with a melody of that title. ANITA EKBERG was a Scandanavian actress very much of the time. (7 of the 12 titles were composed or co-composed by Robert Mellin). The other titles are: I'M YOURS WE COULD MAKE SUCH BEAUTIFUL MUSIC TOGETHER HOW MUCH DO I LOVE YOU SOONER OR LATER I DON'T WANT TO LOVE YOU SOMETIMES I WONDER THE RIVER SEE IT MY WAY ONLY FOR YOU THE WINTER SONG TARA LARA. They are played by the orchestra of ROBERTO on CORAL records, number CRL-57154. The vinyl LP is in ALMOST MINT condition. The cover has a seam split bottom center, and the original clearance price sticker is still there, but is otherwise in excellent condition. As for the cover art, it speaks for itself.
