Annihilator is a Canadian thrash metal band founded in 1984 by vocalist, guitarist and bassist Jeff Waters. They are the highest selling heavy metal group in Canadian history, having sold nearly 20 million albums worldwide, although most of their sales have been generated outside of the band's home country. Their first two studio albums, Alice in Hell and Never, Neverland, are considered masterpieces of Canadian heavy metal.
Alice in Hell was the one of the five Annihilator albums to feature songwriting contributions from former singer John Bates, who was credited as the co-writer of the songs "Alison Hell", "W.T.Y.D.", "Burns Like a Buzzsaw Blade" and "Human Insecticide". Bates also co-wrote some songs on their 1994 album King of the Kill and their next three albums Refresh the Demon, Remains and Criteria for a Black Widow.

 

 

 

  

 

  

 

Sabbat are a thrash metal band from Nottingham, England, currently consisting of Martin Walkyier (vocals), Andy Sneap (guitars), Simon Jones (guitars), Gizz Butt (bass) and Simon Negus (drums). Over the years Sabbat have released three studio albums, four demos, two split singles/compilation albums, two singles and a live VHS. In 1988, the band released their debut album History of a Time to Come, which earned them further recognition. Their next album, Dreamweaver (Reflections of Our Yesterdays) (1989) was also critically acclaimed. Shortly after the release of Mourning Has Broken, tensions with the band began to surface, most of them revolved around money. This resulted in Sabbat breaking up.

History of a Time to Come is the debut full-length album by the British thrash metal band Sabbat.

Speaking to Metal Forces magazine before the recording of the album, Sneap set out the band’s plans for their debut LP, stating:

“All the tracks from the 'Fragments of a Faith Forgotten' demo will be on it and also 'The 13th Disciple' from the Friday Rock Show session, plus other tracks such as 'A Church Bizarre', 'I for an Eye', 'Behind the Crooked Cross' and the instrumental 'A Dead Man's Robe'".

The album was recorded at Horus Sound Studio commencing on 14 September 1987. It was subsequently mixed in Berlin by producer Roy M Rowland and released on 20 April 1988, bearing artwork drawn by the band’s White Dwarf contact, John Blanche, entitled “Horned Is the Hunter”.
