Anthrax's debut album with vocalist Joey Belladonna marks a significant advancement, with vocals that alternate between hardcore-style shouting and unexpectedly high levels of melody and intensely rhythmic, hammering riffs. There are also two tracks from the Dan Lilker era included. While presenting a preference for paying homage to beloved literary characters and pop cultural artifacts, the conventional metal lyrical content is more creative ("Lone Justice" and "Medusa" are prime examples). One of Anthrax's best attempts, in my humble opinion.
