This auction is for a copy of one of rarest fluxus records, SHE AND SHE AS ONE by Anton Heyboer.
This album was released on EMI HOLLAND only in 1976 (5C064 25454) and is virtually impossible to find these days.
Condition sleeve: beautiful gatefold sleeve with etchings by Heyboer, very good ++ condition with minor ageing and slight sticker damage upper left corner (see image).
Condition album: very good ++, due to the nature of the recordings (very soft) there are some pops, but no skips or anything too serious.
In all, a very enjoyable copy of a very rare album, which hardly turns up for sale.
Acually, If I'm not mistaken, this is the FIRST time it's being offered on Ebay.
You will find the reserve very reasonable.
This album is from my personal collection and it is one of my favourite records EVER.
It contains beautiful harmonium drones with spoken word poems.
Biography: Anton Heyboer was born in 1924 in Sabang, Indonesia. He grew up in Curacao, West Indies. He died a few years ago. Heyboer, an autodidact (shut your eyes and draw – the subconscious will do the rest), is maily a graphic artist, who was also active in painting.
In the early 70s he bought a couple of piano's and harmoniums and recorded She and She as One (referring to the two wives he had at the time) over a longer period. He then stored the tapes in a box and forgot all about them, until in 1976 the tapes were rediscovered, edited and made into this album. Without promotion and generally considered -too weird- for the average consumer, the album sold hardly any copies at all.
In his own words Heyboer’s art is meant to represent and create the relationships between the individual and society. His art is meant to improve human relationships; it should make one happy. His attitude is one of romance. In 1951 Heyboer spent a year in a psychiatric institution in Santpoort. During his stay there he experienced that in his schizophrenia, one half of his personality adopted the form of Christ.
Although he says that his emotional life stopped before the age of three, he seems to live in an emotional world of which religious mysticism is the main component.
