Aphrodites Child – Plastics Nevermore / The Other People
Rare US Promo issue of the first Aphrodite's Child recordings, featuring popular Greek prog artist Vangelis Papathanassiou. These two songs, originally recorded as a demo for Philips, were issued as the band's first 45 in the USA. Songs are great pop psych/prog cuts and it in even comes in the original Philips sleeve!
After Vangelis' Greek '60s band The Forminx broke up, Vangelis, together with singer Demis Roussos and drummer Lucas Sideras left for London to try their success outside of Greece. They got stuck in Paris and formed the band Aphrodite's Child, though they are credited as Aphrodites Child (no apostrophe) on this single. They later released a single called "Rain and Tears", inspired by Pachelbell's famous canon. It became a huge success ranking at the top of the charts in several European countries.

Grading Policy: Mint Never happens, doesn't exist in our eyes. NM Nearly perfect, with perhaps one or two very faint marks on the grooves only seen under bright light VG+ A few light scratches or marks on the grooves that don't affect play, some may refer to this as EX VG Still plays well and has good luster, but has more than a few surface scratches / hairlines / scuffs that don't typically affect play VG- Plays fine, but looks a bit dull and has a significant amount of light surface scratches that don't affect play
