up for auction here is the all time heavy psych/prog rock monster by Arcadium.......Breathe Awhile.......
this is the incredibly rare and little known/obscure Australian original 1969 pressing on the Australian Astor record label.
Acardium....the 5 piece band led by Miguel Sergides(guitar/vocals),Robert Ellwood(guitar),Graham best(bass),John Albert parker(drums) and Alan Ellwood(keyboards)....his doomy psychedelic organ playing is a real driving force to the bands sound.this album is a psychedelic prog rock tour de force, filled with blazing acid drenched/prog inspired guitar and organ...a true jewel!!!!
although far from up to my usual high standards.....due to the unbelievable rarity of this psych/prog rock masterpiece...it deserves to be listed here.
in all my 35-40 years of record collecting this is the only Australian copy/issue i have ever seen or heard of.infact it is so obscure, i did not believe it was ever released in Australia until i found this copy.
although visually only in just good condition...amazingly the record plays extremely well all the way through.infact, so well most of the time,it sounds almost in pristine condition through the heavier sections which thankfully is most of the record.
but again...visually it is not.
it does however, in the quieter spots and between the tracks, play with the expected crackle/pop and hiss.
but again, thankfully, most of the lp was recorded as a heavy/psych/prog rock masterpiece and you cannot notice this on most of the loud tracks/sections.
i have played this lp all the way through several times on different record players and there are no jumps, no clicks, no distortion(other than that which was recorded or intended).just the crackel/pop and hiss previously mentioned.
apart from the quieter parts mentioned...this is a heavy loud tour de force that has stood up to the test of time.there are visual marks over the entire surface of the record but thankfully nothing deep or serious...again, more visual than anything..they just don't make records like this anymore.
as for the lp sleeve..overall it is not in too bad a shape.it is intact.it does have seam splits to the top and bottom edge and the start of a seam split to the spine.it does have a name written on the rear of the sleeve.

so.......don't miss probably one of your only chances to ever own an original Australian 1969 pressing on the Astor record label, of this mega rare obscure release.please take into account an original UK pressing of this release is worth well over $600.00...and this Australian pressing would be 10 times(if not more) harder to find
