This is the UK 1st press of ’Aretha in Paris’ by Aretha Franklin. This earliest press is complete with the A1//B1 matrix and heavy flat edge vinyl. The labels are plum and orange and have the 'Under Licence' text above the white strip. It is complete with the original laminated MacNeill Press sleeve.
The record in Near Mint condition. The vinyl is absolutely sensational, every track gleams and still has the original jet black gloss. The label is bright, with a small scuff, the text is sharp and there is NO spindle wear.
When played the heavy earliest press vinyl has a rich, warm mono original sound. Sensational audio separation and clarity throughout.
The laminated MacNeill Press sleeve is in Excellent condition. The laminate is flat and glossy, the colours are warm and bright and the text is sharp. The unlaminated rear of the sleeve is clean and the white text is clear. There is a little ring wear. The whole sleeve is solid and the spine is firm.
