FINAL ALBUM, following the magnificient 'In Deep', with Russ Ballard in tow - he would leave to go solo. This is a great work with the band once again looking to fuse period prog rock with a more balanced song writing approach. Certainly the more I listen to this album I can sense the deep rift that was developing between group leader Rod Argent and guitarist Ballard. Most of side one is devoted to trad progging which in a real sense is piloted almost entirely by Argent's keyboard pyrotechnics and the combustible drum and bass antics of Bob Henrit and Jim Rodford respectively. Key tracks here include 'Music From The Spheres', a Supertrampesque prog-lite work out, 'Keeper Of The Flame', with its staccato tempo, and the superbly pompous but forceful 'Thunder & Lightning', arguably one of their career highlights - certainly in my top five Argent tracks of all time.
A wonderful band and a great album.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Cover: Issued in a beautifully illustrated cover 'metalic' finish cover. As you know, these are usually found with massive wear but this one is great! Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and one faint almost invisible crease top right. Spine is stiff and uncrushed. Impossible to find like this after 42 years. Grades as MINT-!
