NOYE’S FLUDDE The Chester Miracle Play set to music by BENJAMIN BRITTEN / ORIG Argo LP // ZNF 1 (UK, Stereo, 1961)
Happy to present an original Stereophonic ‘oval’ logo press of this superb UK recording from the early 1960s. Presented in its original pink text ‘stereophonic record’ (Decca) poly-lined inner sleeve.
The fully laminated sleeve has double rear flipbacks, top and bottom and is in solid, pleasing EX (Excellent) condition. A light crease to the rear and two creases to the front right – not detracting too much from the overall appearance. NO splits, tears, writing, stickers. Good sharp corners and strong undamaged rear flips. An above average example!
The libretto is present. NO writing or rips but some overall soft handling creases and a patch of light staining to the rear page.
The black, oval stereo labels are in a superb shape. NO writing, residue or stickers. A thorough examination of the centre hole reveals NO real spindle evidence.
The medium weight vinyl is a lovely example and has been carefully play-tested. Visually there is little untoward to report. One light (and I mean light – I saw it, then I didn’t!) scuff line to Side 2 and some very faint sleeve removal lines – all of this hardly visible really. NO scratches, hairlines, dimples, craters. NO dust pockets or embedded dirt either. To most, I would imagine, a near mint disc but I’ll say EX+ (Excellent Plus) hoping to please. THE WHOLE LP HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and plays wonderfully. So expect no snap, crackle or pops, no clicks or hiss. There is no groove wear, no distortion or loss of clarity/lack of definition. I picked up a handful of light ticks to Side 1, hardly worth reporting. The play grade at least matches the visual one – a very satisfying listen.
A complete original Stereo press of this important record in very pleasing shape. No reserve.
