Description

ARNETT COBB – SIZZLIN’ – PRESTIGE 7227 – NEAR MINT – YELLOW & BLACK LABEL – MONO – VAN GELDER

This Rudy Van Gelder session was recorded on October 31, 1960 and features Arnett Cobb on tenor, Red Garland on piano, George Tucker on bass and J.C. Heard on drums. SIDE A: SWEET GEORGIA BROWN; BLACK VELVET and BLUE SERMON. SIDE B: GEORGIA ON MY MIND; SIXXLIN’ and THE WAY YOU LOOK TONIGHT. It has the yellow and black label. “VAN GELDER” is engraved on both sides of the blank vinyl. The LP is in its original glassine sleeve. This is a Mono recording.

I have rated this LP as Near Mint for the following reasons. The Vinyl is clean on both sides. There is no wear on either side of the spindle hole. The record jacket is in excellent condition with no signs of wear. There is a slight discoloration on the liner notes and there is a “Circled C” in the right hand corner of the liner notes. If you have any questions, please email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks. Due to the various holidays coming up next week, my next auction will go out on April 12, 2012. Happy Holidays! Tom
