For auction is ART BLAKEY & the JAZZ MESSENGERS "At the Jazz Corner of the World" Vol 1, Blue Note 1958 (BLP-4015), MONO. I note that this record has RVG and the "Ear" pressed into the dead wax. The vinyl is VG+ or better, it has been machine-cleaned and played. Sounds great. The sleeve has a bit of writing on the reverse, including the original owner's name in red marker, and DJ notes in pen. Otherwise, in good shape. The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics. No reserve, starts at $15.
I was left over 5000 old jazz albums from a friend who passed away. They are not catalogued nor are they even organized. I'll be going through them a little bit at a time and putting them up for auction. I have one of those cleaning machines and I listen to at least part of every cleaned record. Everything I've listened to "sounds great", and I do mean "great". No pops, hisses, skips, etc. Great sound. Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale. As for grading, I've reviewed generally accepted guidelines, and I think my grades on the sleeves and the vinyl are conservative. Most everything I've looked at so far is "VG+" or better. If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically.
