ART BLAKEY "Holiday for Skins, Vol. 1" Blue Note 4004, RVG, DG, P, Mono Vinyl

This is the 1959, Original Laminated cover, "RVG" stamped, Deep Groove, "P"-pressing of ART BLAKEY's "Holiday for Skins, Vol. 1" on the "47 West 63rd" labels of Blue Note BLP 4004. Musicians include Art Blakey, Donald Byrd, Ray Bryant, Wendell Marshall, Art Taylor, Philly Joe Jones, Ray Barretto, Victor Gonzales, Julio Martinez, Sabu Martinez, Chonguito Vincente, Fred Pagani, Andy Delannoy, Austin Cromer, Hal Rasheed.

VINYL plays with consistent low to medium level surface noise (i.e, static, crackle, ??,????,relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with pops and ticks. But Ensemble sections are very dynamic and strong, clear, clean and powerful. Few areas repeating "swoosh" wear. No Skips. No locked grooves. No distortion. Vinyl surface is clean, but mildly worn. Many hairline marks, a few feelable.  The Deep Groove "47 West 63rd" labels are generally clean with spindle marks. See photos.

LAMINATED COVER is in good condition with some peeling at edges. Corners very worn.  Top Seam: cracking, several splits; Spine: half clean with wrinkling, half split; bottom seam: cracking, splits. Back jacket shows wear, stains, tears, aging. Please see photos.

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC AUDIO DESK SYSTEME VINYL PRO CLEANER.
