Description
ART BLAKEY “At The Jazz Corner Of The World, Vol. 2” RVG, P, LAM, Blue Note BLP 4055 Mono Vinyl
This is the 1959, first edition, “RVG” etched, Laminated Cover, Deep Groove, “P” pressing of ART BLAKEY and The Jazz Messenger’s “Meet You At The Jazz Corner Of The World, Vol. 2” on the "47 West 63rd” labels of Blue Note BLP 4055. Musicians include Art Blakey, Lee Morgan, Hank Mobley, Bobby Timmons, Jymie Merritt, Pee Wee Marquette.
VINYL plays well, with very light surface and occasional pops and ticks. Slight repeating tick side 2, #1. Ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong. No skips. Good gloss. A few hairline marks, one feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The Deep Groove “47 West 63rd” labels are clean, spindle wear. See photos.
LAMINATED COVER is in nice shape. Some peeling, corners worn. Top and bottom seams show cracking, bottom seam has long split. Spine almost perfect except for small crack at top, and black ink over label name. Back jacket shows wear, fading. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER. Record photographed before final rinse/dry.
