Description

ART ENSEMBLE OF CHICAGO – Phase One (1971) America-6116 – M-/M- (cover/vinyl) ORIGINAL FRENCH ISSUE

An amazing free-jazz set originally released overseas in France (this is the original 1st pressing) featuring Lester Bowie, Roscoe Mitchell, Joseph Jarman, Malachi Favors along with Don Moye on drums and other percussion. This features two side-long tracks, Ohnedaruth” (21:30) and “Lebert Aaly – Dedication to Albert Ayler” (20:56). Massive, and one of the all-time great cover photos! You rarely see this one!

This is a beautiful copy. The laminated cover is bright and tight and intact with no seam splits and virtually no wear other than a few minor crimps in the lamination (usually these kinds of covers have many more). The original blue label vinyl is pristine and glossy and looks unplayed.  I grade this conservatively: M-/M- (cover/vinyl).

This is an original pressing. I do not sell modern reissues.

Domestic media mail is $4. International airmail is $20. Note to international bidders – any winning bid over $100 requires registered mail shipping so a signature is obtained at delivery. The winning international bidder is responsible for the additional shipping costs associated with registered mail.

PLEASE DO NOT MAKE PAYMENT UNTIL I SEND AN INVOICE.
