Description
Up for auction is a nice copy of the Art Farmer album "Art" released on Argo Records (#678) released in 1960. This is an original MONO, deep groove pressing. The condition of the cover is really nice. The front retains its high gloss lamination with no ring wear or chipping. Color remains bright. Back cover is very clean (see photo) and bone-white as it should be. No writing, stamps, or ring wear. The only detractions for the cover are a couple of rubbed and chipped corners (see photos), but these blemishes are actually quite small, and do not really detract from the beauty of the overall cover. Call it VG++/EX-. The vinyl looks nice, too. Shows some superficial scuffing and hairlines, mostly from taking disc out of its paper sleeve. No serious scratches, and none that appear to affect play quality. Labels for a few tiny scratches and a couple spindle marks. This record has been play tested and produces a nice, full-bodied mono sound with only a faint amount of background noise, and certainly none that compete with the music, even in the quiet passages. The high notes are generally clear and undistorted. Call the record VG+. Overall, a well-preserved copy that shows evidence of previous playing, but has been handled with care for the most part, not man-handled.
