ART FARMER SEXTET, ROUND ABOUT MIDNIGHT: Jugoton Stereo LSY-66127. An incredibly rare studio recording made during Art Farmer’s stay in Yugoslavia at the Zagreb Jazz Fair in autumn 1980, obviously missing in many discographies, too. The producer of this record is Boško Petrovi?, leader of the legendary Zagreb Jazz Quartet in the '50s and '60s - a dedicated master of the vibraphone and one of the great underrated musicians in European Jazz. (Especially German Jazz enthusiasts will remember his appearance at the Berlin Jazz Festival 1971 when he presented musicians of five countries labelled as "Boško Petrovi?'s Nonconvertible Eastern All Stars" in spite of atrocities caused by the Cold War.) Some details about the condition of this record: Jacket in Eastern European style is in very solid VG+ condition (no tears or holes or writing, but moderate signs of general use); vinyl appears visually to be unplayed with just a few minimal and probably inaudible traces of taking the record out of the sleeves: mint minus.
