ART HODES HOT FIVE “Hot Jazz at Blue Note” 10”, DG, P, Blue Note 7005, Lexington, Flat Rim, Mono Vinyl

This is the first edition, 10”, Flat Rim, “P”-pressing of ART HODES’s “Out of the Back Room” on the Deep Groove "767 Lexington Ave” labels of Blue Note BLP 7005.

FLAT RIM VINYL plays with consistent low to occasionally medium level surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????,relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with occasional pops and ticks. But ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong with clean transients, powerful extension and full tone. NO distortion. NO skips. As with all first pressing Blue Notes, the brilliantly performed and pressed music overcomes surface imperfections. Decent gloss. Many hairline marks, handful feelable. The Deep Groove "767 Lexington Ave” labels show aging and spindle marks. See photos.

10” COVER is in good condition, corners worn, normal aging, solid colors. Top Spine split, seams in good condition. 2” tape on bottom seam. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 797 Lexington Ave., New York 21, N.Y” back jacket shows aging, otherwise clean. Please see photos.

   

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON VPI 16.5 VINYL CLEANER.
