When Art Pepper passed away in 1982, ALA Archives Records gathered the master tapes of this original 1956 jam session and released it to jazz cognoscenti hungry for it.

Here, Art’s alto is supported by Russ Freeman on piano, Ben Tucker on bass, and Gary Frommer on drums. Selections are ART’S OPUS, I SURRENDER DEAR, DIANE, PEPPER POT, BESAME MUCHO (great!), BLUES AT TWILIGHT, and VAL’S PAL.
