Description

Here's an original Art Pepper Quartet 1953 10" on Discovery 3019. It's not a pretty copy, but read on, because it's actually a nice play on my mono cart.


So the bad news is the chip at the opening of side 1. Alas, it is what it is, so you'll miss the opening of the song. On side 2 the needle (on my rig, anyway) gets hung up before it hit the grooves, so I have to manually help it settle in there. For the life of me I can't see or feel any reason why.


Now, aside from that, you've got VG-/G+ vinyl with lines and scuffs throughout, but nothing feelable. And as I mention above, this plays surprisingly nice on my mono cart, all things considered. It's been ultrasonic cleaned, and is pretty quiet overall, although there is some low noise that doesn't overpower, and which you hear a little more in varying places (piano breaks, etc.) and a click or tick here and there. But I think it's very listenable overall and an acceptable placeholder until you find a better copy, which I did, and which is why I'm selling this one.


Call the cover VG- with taped top and bottom seams. Spine is intact. Rubbed corners. Front and back present pretty nicely.
