Description
MEAN OLE FRISCO by ARTHUR "BIG BOY" CRUDUP up for auction. Originally released in 1970 on MIKE VERNON's BLUE HORIZON label (7-63855). This was part of their POST WAR MASTERS series. Recorded in 1959 at BELL SOUND STUDIOS in NYC. Produced by the legendary BOBBY ROBINSON (WILBERT HARRISON; THE SHIRELLES; DAVE "BABY" CORTEZ; LEE DORSEY; KING CURTIS; GRAND MASTER FLASH; DOUG E. FRESH; KOOL MOE DEE) for his FIRE RECORDS imprint (LIGHTIN' HOPKINS; ELMORE JAMES; BOBBY MARCHAN).
I bought this record in the UK back i the early 90s and it has been in storage ever since. LP appears to be in at least VG+ condition (I no longer have a turntable so grading is visual and conservative). There are no spindle marks so it is possible that the record is unplayed. However, the last track on Side 1 has some sort of either surface abrasion or it's dirt. I don't know what it is so I don't know if it affects playback or not. The vinyl looks shiny and pristine except for this one possible blemish. That is what keeps me from grading this NM. Cover is VG or better with a little bit of ring wear and a small crimp on the lower right hand corner plus a tiny dent slightly above the "A" in Arthur, as well a a tiny bit of bubbling next to the Blue Horizon logo are the only defects. All in all, I think you will be pleased with this purchase.
